The Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester, founded as Bivona Child Advocacy Center in 2004, has outgrown its space at the beautiful and historic building at One Mount Hope Avenue.

A beacon of hope universally signifies a promise of guidance, inspiration and a relief during a crisis.  That sums up what The CAC does every day.

The Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester (The CAC) has outgrown our current space because of the incredible impact we're making in the lives of children and families across our region. The Beacon of Hope Comprehensive Campaign will move our existing 20 partner agencies to Beacon Place, where we will be co-located with fellow community nonprofits, including Willow Domestic Violence Center, The Family Justice Center, Irondequoit Community Center, and Goodwill. Co-location is central to our multidisciplinary model: it strengthens communication among the professionals who serve each child, reduces the cost of services, and, most importantly, reduces trauma to the child. Our intent in co-location is to provide comprehensive services for every family we serve. Moving to a larger space will allow us to keep every service under one roof and preserve the trauma-informed model The CAC was built on.

Our new home, Beacon Place, will be located within the Skyview on the Ridge redevelopment (formally Irondequoit Mall site) on a main RTS bus line, making it easy for families to reach by public transportation. It’s being built as a true nonprofit hub, co-locating The CAC with partner agencies under one roof. Beacon Place will be one place families can depend on to receive the support and resources they need.

In 2004, The CAC served 535 children; today, we support an average of 1,700 children a year. Over the past 22 years, we’ve grown from 7 partner agencies to 20. Having those partner agencies under one roof with us is vital to the comprehensive, continuous care we provide. We support a child from the first step of the investigative process all the way through healing. Co-location isn’t a convenience; it is a necessity. It reduces trauma for children and families and lends itself to more positive outcomes when cases go to trial.

The goal of the Beacon of Hope campaign is restoration. We facilitate healing and growth while tirelessly pursuing justice for every child and family who walks through our doors, driven by the belief that change is possible, even for the most wounded hearts. Beacon Place gives us the space to deliver on the belief at the scale our community now requires.

100% of our future is the children in this community, and every gift for this campaign is an investment in their safety and healing. We’re asking you to help us build Beacon Place because a safer future for our region’s kids only happens if people like you decide to be part of it. Will you help us get them there?

Why you?

What is the goal of the campaign?

Why are we moving?

Where are we going?

What is the need?
